Living With Wildlife

Washington County is home to more than 300 species of birds, fish, and mammals. Wildlife is a sign of a healthy environment. A healthy environment is part of what makes this a great place to call home.

Sometimes living with urban wildlife can create problems. Squirrels dig in our gardens. Skunks live under porches. Raccoons raid garbage cans, and woodpeckers bang on houses. How can we learn to coexist with the wild animals who share our backyards, parks, and streets?
